You are entitled by law to union representation. Don't be misled into
thinking you won't need it!  
YOU MUST REQUEST UNION
REPRESENTATION;
the Company is not required to offer it and usually
won't.  If called into a meeting with management, read the following to
them before the meeting starts:
“If this discussion could in any way lead to my being disciplined or
terminated, or affect my personal working conditions, I respectfully
request that my union representative, officer, or steward be present at
this meeting. Without representation present, I choose not to participate
in this discussion.”

You may call the Local at 601-922-5200 for representation and
you do not have to answer any questions until your representative
arrives.
  • You DO NOT have to write or sign ANY statement for theCompany
    Company. (If you do, request a copy).
  • If the Company requests for you to sign a document, write in "I don't
    understand", "I don't agree", or something similar to prevent the
    company from sneaking unsigned documents in your file at a later
    time. (Remember, your supervisor is NOT your friend and will do what
    he/she must to cover their own ass!)
  • When asked a question by the Company, if you don't recall, say you
    don't recall. (Don't try to fill in the gaps or guess).
  • You have the right to information regarding the subject of the
    meeting before you participate.
  • You have the right to consult with your Union Representative before
    and/or during the meeting.
  • DO NOT FORGET: YOU MUST REQUEST UNION
    REPRESENTATION, the Company isn't obligated and usually
    won't offer it.
